ArcGIS GeoEvent Server has two Java processes on both the Windows and Linux operating systems.
Windows
You can expect to see the following operating system processes on any GeoEvent Server machine that is started and participating in a site on the Windows operating system.
- ArcGISGeoEvent.exe
- ArcGISGeoEventGateway.exe
You can tell that a javaw.exe process is associated with GeoEvent Server by looking at the Command Line column in Windows Task Manager. If the path includes the ArcGIS installation directory, you know it's a process associated with GeoEvent Server. You can derive further information about each process by examining its full command.
The ArcGIS GeoEvent Server Windows service represents ArcGIS GeoEvent Server itself. Stopping this service effectively stops GeoEvent Server on the machine and shuts down any running instances.
