Interactive Legend allows users to filter layers in the map by changing the visibility of features based on categories and ranges in the legend. This gives users the ability to explore the map holistically or to focus on the categories that are most relevant to them. Choose the feature filter option to show selected items in the legend and filter out the remaining data. Choose the mute option to highlight selected items in the legend while other items remain on the map in muted colors. You can include the screenshot tool to allow users to capture images of the map. Data requirements
The Interactive Legend app requires a feature layer to take full advantage of its capabilities. The following drawing styles are supported:
- Types (Unique symbols)
- Counts and amounts (Size) - Classify Data Checked
- Counts and Amounts (Color) - Classify Data Checked
- Predominant Category
- Predominant Category and Size (Partially interactive)
- Types and Size (Partially interactive)
App capabilities
The following list includes some key settings and capabilities that you can configure for this app:
- Feature filter—Displays only features that fall within the criteria of the selected legend elements.
- Mute—Applies a muted shade or muted opacity to features that do not fall within the criteria of the selected legend items.
- Feature count—Shows a count for each feature and a total for all.
- Screenshot—Captures an image of the map that users can export.
- Navigation boundary—Keeps the area in the map in focus by using a navigation boundary or disabling the ability to scroll.
- URL parameter—Opens the app to a selected feature using a URL parameter.
All Instant Apps templates have settings to include a Home button and zoom controls, a legend, and the ability to search the map or data.
